Travel Around the Globe in our Year-Round Child Care Programs in Reston, VA

Bar-T Reston offers programming designed to fit your family’s needs. When you come for a tour of Bar-T Reston, our experienced staff will work with you to ensure that your child is placed in the classroom that meets their developmental needs.

New York City (6 weeks to 16 months)

New York City provides an individualized program for each child in the room.  The teachers in the classroom provide experiences based on all developmental levels while providing the specific care each child requires when it comes to eating, sleeping and love.  New York City teachers communicate daily through verbal and electronic notes to ensure we are providing the best care for your baby.

Rome (1 – 2 years)

If your child is under 2 years old, Bar-T Reston’s Toddlers program is right for you. With a ratio of 1 staff member to every 5 children, we are able to work with each child as an individual to help him/her be successful every day. The children work on gross motor skills (walking, throwing, sitting, rolling, etc.) and small motor skills (grasping, picking up, etc.) along with incorporating opportunities for sensory play, art activities, and play through exploration and discovery.

London (2 – 3 years)

Children who are 2 years old find success in many avenues in our London classroom.  With a ratio of 1 teacher to every 8 children, we provide group and individual learning opportunities.  London creates the foundational base needed to be successful academically and socially for the many years to come.  London practices their interactions among one another through our social, emotional curriculum.  This is paired with our academic curriculum learning pre-literacy and pre-math concepts while exploring their creative side with art and sensory exploration.

Paris (2 1/2 years to 3 years)

In Paris children make new discoveries daily.  They are starting to express their independence and are eager to learn and explore. While continuing to create lessons based on the children’s interests, we incorporate pre-literacy skills, math, STEM, and writing  concepts. These are offered during both exploratory play and small group activities.  We always encourage the children express themselves creatively through art and sensory play.  Paris continues the social, emotional curriculum starting in earlier classrooms for children to learn how to problem solve and practice conflict resolution.

Venice (3 years)

With a 1 teacher to 10 child ratio, Venice begins to embark on a more school like structure and functionality.  Children are provided a balanced expectation of independent activities with teacher facilitated learning.  Venice explores literacy, math, STEM, writing, art and  sensory lessons daily.  With this exposure children are provided the opportunity to apply and master concepts after they are introduced.  Our social, emotional curriculum comes alive in our Venice classroom as the children are implementing what they have learned at this point independently.

Washington, D.C. (4 years)

Bar-T brings over twenty years of Pre-Kindergarten experience to Reston. As 4 year olds gain more self-esteem, they are getting ready to take on the world.  Designed especially for 4 year olds who will enter Kindergarten the following year, Bar-T ensures they are prepared to take on elementary school with an enhanced focus on writing, pre-reading/reading, math and science. Children are given opportunities to become problem solvers and develop a love of learning through creative approaches, self-discovery, and teacher facilitated small groups.

Before and After School “Kids Club”

Kids Club offers school-aged children the opportunity to participate in clubs and activities before and after school. Clubs and activities are built by the children for the children. Focusing on the interests of the children allows for more fun and involvement after a long day at school. With a scheduled homework time in the schedule, children are offered a time to focus and receive the support needed. Combined this gives parents a happy child who is done with their homework at pickup, allowing for more family time at home!
